T Wiz

during the month of Feb 2010, i worked on a new rig by the name of T-Wiz.
these are some of the images used in creating a proper rig.
Starting with corrected character movement for the rig.A good animator will give you
reference on how the model should react. From there you develop the true nature of the model.

Neo Pets Key Quest

Demo_Reel_Update _7_7_9 from juan carlos leon on Vimeo.

I was the lead rigger on the Neopets Key Quest series. There was a variety of rig set ups, from biped to quadraped creatures.Creatures with armor or wings that also needed set ups.
there was 114 total rigs created for 9 series. many rig set ups carried a variety of models to work along the animations. All characters required facial rig sets ups to carry many emotions. The characters were set up for an online game.

Old Man

I wanted to start off with a basic biped rig, The old man rig.
He was given to me to rig for my demo reel. he was supppose to be laying on a chair get up and walk around.
on this rig, i wanted it to carry a nice facial set up. allowing the animator to make the character blink, open his mouth in many ways, have a tounge set up,eyebrow and sagging cheeks controls. It carries a IK/FK leg and arm set up.The spine is built in Fk.

When i start most of my rigs, i like to draw out the joint placement.
that way i can see what works or what does not.
